حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا رَجُلٌ، مِنْ بَنِي سَدُوسٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ جُرَيُّ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ عَضْبَاءِ الْأُذُنِ وَالْقَرْنِ قَالَ فَسَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ فَقَالَ النِّصْفُ فَمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ‏.‏
Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatada narrated to us, a man, from Banu Sadus, called Jari bin Kulayb narrated to us, on the authority of Ali bin Abi Talib, May God be pleased with him. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, forbade ear and horn crowns. He said, “So I asked Saeed bin Al-Musayyab. The half said or more.
