حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ مُخَارِقٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَخْطُبُ وَعَلَيْهِ سَيْفٌ حِلْيَتُهُ حَدِيدٌ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ مَا عِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ نَقْرَؤُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَهَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةَ أَعْطَانِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهَا فَرَائِضُ الصَّدَقَةِ قَالَ لِصَحِيفَةٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ فِي سَيْفِهِ.
Yahya bin Adam told us, Sharik told us, on the authority of Mukhariq, on the authority of Tariq bin Shihab, he said, I saw Ali, may God be pleased with him, on the pulpit giving a sermon. And upon him was a sword with an iron ornament, and I heard him say, By God, we have no book to read to you except the book of God Almighty, and this is The scroll was given to me by the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in which it contained the duties of charity. He said to a scroll hanging on his sword.
