Hadith #45482
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، أَنْبَأَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ، هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثُمَّ خَيْرُهَا بَعْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ أَحَبَّ.
Abdullah told us, Wahb bin Baqiya told me, Khalid told us, on the authority of Ata’, meaning Ibn al-Sa’ib, on the authority of Abd Khair, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him. God said on his authority, “Shall I not inform you of something good about this nation after its Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, Abu Bakr?” Then the best of them after Abu Bakr. Omar, may God be pleased with him. Then God will bring goodness where He loves.
