حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، أَنْبَأَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَامَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ خَيْرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَإِنَّا قَدْ أَحْدَثْنَا بَعْدُ أَحْدَاثًا يَقْضِي اللَّهُ فِيهَا مَا شَاءَ.
Abdullah told us, Wahb bin Baqiyah Al-Wasiti told us, Khalid bin Abdullah told us, on the authority of Husayn, on the authority of Al-Musayyab bin Abdul Good, on the authority of his father, he said: Ali, may God be pleased with him, stood up and said: The best of this nation after its Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, is Abu Bakr and Omar. Indeed, we have yet brought about events in which God decides what He wills.
