Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, Shu`bah narrated to us, on the authority of Ismail ibn Sami’, Malik ibn Umair narrated to me, he said: Zayd ibn Suhan came to Ali, may God bless him and grant him peace. God said, “Tell me what the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade you.” He said, “He forbade me from camels and lizards.” And the naqir, and the beer, and about the gold ring, or he said, the gold ring, and about the silk, and the bow, and the red mitre, and he said, and it was given as a gift to the Messenger of God. God, may God bless him and grant him peace, a silk robe and he clothed me with it, and I went out in it. He took it and gave it to Fatima or his paternal aunt Ismail. He says so. Yunus narrated to us, Abd al-Wahid narrated to us, and he mentioned it with its chain of transmission and its meaning, except that he said Sa’sa’a bin Suhan came to Ali, may God be pleased with him.
