Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45626

Muhammad ibn Ja`far told us, Sa`id told us, on the authority of Abdullah al-Danaj, on the authority of Hudayn, he said: It was witnessed against al-Walid ibn Uqba in the presence of Uthman that He drank wine, and Ali spoke to Uthman about it. He said, “Below you is your cousin, so flog him.” He said, “Get up, Hassan.” He said, “What do you have to do with this or this?” Someone else, so he said, 'Rather, you are incapable, weak, and weak. Arise, O Abdullah bin Ja'far.' So he flogged him, and Ali, may God be pleased with him, counted.
