حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ يَعْنِي الرَّازِيَّ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ اللَّيْلِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ.
Abdullah told us, Abu Abdul Rahman bin Omar told us, Abdul Rahim, meaning Al-Razi, told us, on the authority of Al-Ala’ bin Al-Musayyab, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, On the authority of Asim bin Damrah, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray at night. Sixteen rak'ahs in addition to the obligatory prayers.
