Hadith #45702
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى النَّعْلَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي فَعَلْتُ لَرَأَيْتُ أَنَّ بَاطِنَ الْقَدَمَيْنِ هُوَ أَحَقُّ بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِهِمَا.
Abu Nu`aym told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Abd Khair, who said: I saw Ali, may God be pleased with him, performing ablution and wiping over his sandals, then He said, had I not seen the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, do as you saw me do, I would have seen that inside The feet are more worthy of wiping than the backs of them.
