حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ الطَّبَّاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ، قَالَ وَقُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ مَضَتْ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَكَانَتْ خِلَافَتُهُ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً إِلَّا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ يَوْمًا.
Ishaq bin Issa bin Al-Tabba’ told us, on the authority of Abu Ma’shar, who said: Othman, may God be pleased with him, was killed on Friday, eighteen years ago. Al-Hijjah in the year thirty-five, and his caliphate lasted twelve years minus twelve days.
