Hadith #48907
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا تَحْبِسُوهُ وَأَسْرِعُوا بِهِ إِلَى قَبْرِهِ وَلْيُقْرَأْ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ فَاتِحَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ وَعِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ بِخَاتِمَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ» . رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيمَان. وَقَالَ: وَالصَّحِيح أَنه مَوْقُوف عَلَيْهِ
On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar, he said: I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “If one of you dies, do not imprison him, but hasten him to his grave.” And let him recite at his head the opening of al-Baqarah and at his feet the ending of al-Baqarah.” Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab Al-Iman. And he said: What is true is that he is under arrest
