Hadith #49090
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عُذِّبَتِ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرَّةٍ أَمْسَكَتْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ مِنَ الْجُوعِ فَلَمْ تَكُنْ تُطْعِمُهَا وَلَا تُرْسِلُهَا فَتَأْكُلَ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ»
On the authority of Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah, they said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “A woman was tortured for a cat she caught until it died from famine, and you did not feed them or send them to eat of the vermin of the land.”
