وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: " جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ الْهِلَالَ يَعْنِي هِلَالَ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ: «أَتَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: «أَتَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: «يَا بِلَالُ أَذِّنْ فِي النَّاسِ أَن يَصُومُوا غَدا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ والدارمي
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: “A Bedouin came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: I saw the crescent, meaning the crescent of Ramadan, and he said: ‘Do you bear witness? That there is no god but Allah? He said: Yes. He said: “Do you bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God?” He said: Yes. He said: “O Bilal, give me permission.” People should fast tomorrow.” Narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and Al-Darimi.
