Hadith #49164
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: تَرَاءَى النَّاسُ الْهِلَالَ فَأَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ فَصَامَ وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ بِصِيَامِهِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد والدارمي
On the authority of Ibn Omar, he said: The people saw the crescent, so I told the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that I saw it, so he fasted and ordered the people to fast. Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Darimi
