Hadith #49248
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ خَنْدَقًا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
On the authority of Abu Umamah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever fasts a day in the path of God, God will place between him and the Fire a ditch as between Heaven and earth. Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi
