وَعَن ابنِ شهابٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ أَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ عَامَ نَزَلَ بِابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ: كَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ؟ فَقَالَ سَالِمٌ إِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ السُّنَّةَ فَهَجِّرْ بِالصَّلَاةِ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: صَدَقَ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَجْمَعُونَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي السُّنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ لِسَالِمٍ: أَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ سَالِمٌ: وَهل يتَّبعونَ فِي ذلكَ إِلا سنَّتَه؟ رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
On the authority of Ibn Shihab, he said: Salem told me that in the year Al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf came to Ibn Al-Zubayr, he asked Abdullah: How should we do in the situation on the Day of Arafat? Salem said: If you want the Sunnah, perform the prayer on the day of Arafat. Abdullah bin Omar said: It is true that they were They combine noon and afternoon prayers in the Sunnah, so I said to Salem: Did the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, do that? Salem said: Do they follow in this matter anything but his Sunnah? Narrated by Al-Bukhari
