Hadith #49799
وَعَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عبدِ اللَّه سُئِلَ عَنْ رُكُوبِ الْهَدْيِ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «ارْكَبْهَا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ إِذَا أُلْجِئْتَ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَجِدَ ظَهْرًا» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
On the authority of Abu al-Zubayr, he said: I heard Jabir bin Abdullah being asked about riding a sacrificial animal, and he said: I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “Ride it.” With kindness, if you resort to it until you find noon.” Narrated by Muslim
