Hadith #49899
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أُمِرْتُ بِقَرْيَةٍ تَأْكُلُ الْقُرَى. يَقُولُونَ: يَثْرِبَ وَهِيَ الْمَدِينَةُ تَنْفِي النَّاسَ كَمَا يَنْفِي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ "
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “I was ordered to visit a village that devours villages. They say: Yathrib, and it is the city that expels people just as a furnace expels slag from iron.”
