Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49918

To send it, on the authority of Yahya bin Saeed, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting while a grave was being dug in Medina, and a man looked into the grave and said: Miserable is the resting place of the believer. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Evil is what you said.” The man said, “I did not want this. I wanted to kill in the cause of God, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “There is nothing like killing in the cause of God. There is no spot on earth more beloved to me.” That my grave be in it three times. Narrated by Malik mursal
