Hadith #50666
On the authority of Ikrimah, he said: Heretics were brought to Ali and he burned them. This reached Ibn Abbas and he said: If it had been me, I would not have burned them, as the Messenger of God forbade. God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Do not punish with the punishment of God.” And I would have killed them, according to the words of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Whoever changes his religion, so kill him.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari
