Hadith #50731
On the authority of Jabir, he said: A thief was brought to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he said: “Cut him,” so he was cut off. Then a second person was brought to him and he said: “Cut him,” so he was cut off. He was brought the third time, and he said: “Cut him,” so he was cut off. Then he was brought the fourth time, and he said: “Cut him,” so he was cut off, and the fifth was brought. He said: “Kill him.” So we set off with him and killed him, then we dragged him and threw him into a well and threw stones at him. It was narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Nasa’i, and it was narrated in the explanation of the Sunnah regarding cutting off a thief on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Cut him, then settle him.”
