Hadith #51177
On the authority of Abu Tha’labah Al-Khushani, he said: I said: O Prophet of God, we are in the land of a people of the Book. Shall we eat from their utensils, and in a hunting ground I hunt with my bow and with my dog, which He is not a teacher, but my dog is a teacher, so what is suitable? He said: “As for what I mentioned from the vessels of the People of the Book, if you find anything other than it, do not eat.” And if you do not find it, wash it and eat from it. And whatever you shoot with your bow, mention the name of God, eat. And whatever you shoot with your trained dog, eat. You have not caught with your dog anyone other than a teacher, and you have mastered his intelligence and he has eaten.”
