Hadith #51596
On the authority of Saeed bin Abi Al-Hassan, he said: I was with Ibn Abbas when a man came to him and said: O Ibn Abbas, I am a man, but my livelihood is from the work of my own hands. And I make these pictures. Ibn Abbas said: I will not tell you anything except what I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. I heard it. He says: “Whoever makes an image, God will punish him until He breathes the spirit into it, but He will never breathe it.” Then the man climbed a steep hill, and his face turned yellow, and he said: Woe to you if you refuse to do anything, then you will have to do with this tree and everything that does not have a soul in it.
