Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #52045

On the authority of Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, he claimed that he was sitting in Al-Batha in a group, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting among them, then a cloud passed by and they looked at it. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “What do you call this?” . They said: the clouds. He said: “And the Muzn?” They said: And the weight. He said: “And Al-Anan?” They said: And the reins. He said: “Do you know what is beyond between the heaven and the earth? They said: We do not know. He said: “The distance between them is either one, two, or seventy-three years, and the heaven above it is likewise,” until he counted seven heavens. Then “above.” The seventh heaven is a sea between its top and its bottom, what is between one sky to another sky, then above that are eight or high places between their hooves and their hips like what is between two heavens. To a heaven, then upon their backs is the Throne, between its lowest and its highest. Between one heaven to another heaven, then God is above that.” He narrated it Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood
