Bulugh al-Maram — Hadith #52421
Hadith #52421
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both; The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform the ramal (a brisk walk) during the seven days of Tawaf al-Ifadah. This was narrated by the five compilers of Hadith except for al-Tirmidhi, and it was authenticated by al-Hakim. 1.1 - Weak. It was narrated by Abu Dawud (2001), al-Nasa'i in al-Kubra (2/460-461), Ibn Majah (3060), and al-Hakim (1/475). Its chain of narration includes Ibn Jurayj, who was a mudallis (one who practices tadlis, a form of deception in hadith transmission), and he narrated it using 'an'anah (a form of narration where the narrator says "from"). As for its attribution to the Musnad, I believe it is a mistake, as I did not find it there, nor did al-Hafiz himself mention it in al-Atraf. In his commentary on the hadith in al-Talkhis, he attributed it to those to whom it was attributed here, except for Ahmad. And Allah knows best.
