Bulugh al-Maram — Hadith #52420

On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her: “Your circumambulation of the Kaaba and your Sa’i between Safa and Marwa suffices for your Hajj and your Umrah.” Narrated by Muslim 1.1 - Sahih. Narrated by Muslim (2/879/132), but with the wording: “Your circumambulation suffices for your Hajj and your Umrah.” And he has another narration after this one, with the wording: “Your circumambulation between Safa and Marwa suffices for your Hajj and your Umrah.” As for the wording mentioned by Al-Hafiz, it is from Abu Dawud (1897), and Abu Hatim declared it weak in “Al-`Ilal” (1/294/880). “Benefit”: Our Sheikh said in “Al-Sahihah” (4/638-639): “The Umrah after Hajj is only for the menstruating woman who was unable to perform the Umrah of Hajj before Hajj, because she menstruated, as you know from the story of Aisha. So, if a woman like her enters into Ihram for the Umrah of Hajj, as she, may God be pleased with her, did, and then menstruation prevents her from completing it, then it is permissible for her to perform the Umrah after Hajj. What the masses of pilgrims do today, rushing to perform the Umrah after Hajj, is something we do not consider permissible, because none of the Companions who performed Hajj with him, may God bless him and grant him peace, did it. Rather, I see this as men imitating women, and menstruation is from them! Therefore, I have continued to call the Umrah (the Umrah of the menstruating woman) to clarify the truth.”
