Hadith #53086
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-قَالَ : { لَا تُنْكَحُ اَلْأَيِّمُ حَتَّى تُسْتَأْمَرَ, وَلَا تُنْكَحُ اَلْبِكْرُ حَتَّى تُسْـتَأْذَنَ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ , وَكَيْفَ إِذْنُهَا ? قَالَ : " أَنْ تَسْكُتَ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1‏ .‏‏1 ‏- صحيح .‏ رواه البخاري ( 5136 )‏ ، ومسلم ( 1419 )‏.‏
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "A previously married woman must not be married till she is consulted, and a virgin must not be married till her consent is asked." They asked, "O Allah's Messenger, how is her consent indicated?" He replied, "It is by her silence." [Agreed upon].
