حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ إِنِّي مُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَكُمْ بِهِ إِلَّا الضِّنُّ بِكُمْ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حَرَسُ لَيْلَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ لَيْلَةٍ يُقَامُ لَيْلُهَا وَيُصَامُ نَهَارُهَا.
Muhammad bin Jafar told us, he told us in a whisper, Mus’ab bin Thabit told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, he said, Othman, may God be pleased with him, said: While he was giving a sermon on his pulpit, I am telling you a story that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He did not prevent me from saying: I am telling you about it without worrying about you. Indeed, I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying that one night’s guard in the path of God is better than a thousand nights spent in prayer. its nights and fasts its days
