Hadith #44974
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ قَيْسٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَهْلَةَ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ يَوْمَ الدَّارِ حِينَ حُصِرَ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ عَهْدًا فَأَنَا صَابِرٌ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ قَيْسٌ فَكَانُوا يَرَوْنَهُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ‏.‏
Waki` narrated to us, on the authority of Ismail bin Abi Khaled, he said: Qais said, so Abu Sahlah narrated to me, that Uthman said, on the day of the residence when he was besieged, that the Prophet May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He made a covenant with me, and I will be patient with him. Qais said: They were seeing him that day.
