حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَشُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ أَفْضَلُكُمْ وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ.
Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Sufyan, and Shu’bah, on the authority of Alqamah bin Marthad, on the authority of Saad bin Ubaidah, on the authority of Abu Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Othman, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, Sufyan said, “The best of you,” and Shu’bah said, “The best of you is the one who has learned the Qur’an.” And he taught him...
