Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45030

Hashim bin Al-Qasim narrated to us, Laith narrated to us, Zahra bin Ma’abad Al-Qurashi narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Salih, the servant of Uthman, may God be pleased with him, who said I heard Othman saying on the pulpit, O people, I have concealed from you a conversation that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. I hate that you would be separated from me. Then it seemed to me that I should speak to you so that a man might choose for himself what seemed to him. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He says, “A day’s bond in the path of God is better than a thousand days in other places.” Abu Sa’id, the servant of Banu Hashim, told us. Ikrimah bin Ibrahim Bahili told us, Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Abi Dhubab told us, and he mentioned it.
