Hadith #45204
Waki` told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of al-Harith, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: If I had appointed anyone as my successor without consulting him, I would have appointed Ibn Umm Abd as my successor.
