حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَرَكَانِيُّ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ الْحَنَّاطُ عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا أَعْيَانِي أَمْرُ الْمَذْيِ أَمَرْتُ الْمِقْدَادَ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ اسْتِحْيَاءً مِنْ أَجْلِ فَاطِمَةَ.
Abdullah told us, Muhammad ibn Ja`far al-Warkani told me, Abu Shihab al-Hannat Abd Rabbuh ibn Nafi’ told us, on the authority of al-Hajjaj ibn Artaat, on the authority of Abu Ya’la, on the authority of Muhammad Ibn al-Hanafiyyah, on the authority of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, who said, “When I saw the matter of pre-madhi I ordered Al-Miqdad to ask the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about it, and he told him to perform ablution out of shame for the sake of Fatima.
