Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45337

Marwan told us, Abd al-Malik ibn Sala’ al-Hamdani told us, on the authority of Abd Khair, he said: Ali, may God be pleased with him, taught us the ablution of the Messenger of God May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the boy poured water on his hands until he cleaned them, then he put his hand into the bowl, rinsed his mouth, sniffed the water and washed it. He turned his face three times, and his arms to the elbows three times, then he inserted his hand into the corner, submerging the bottom of it with his hand, then took it out and wiped with it. Then he wiped his head once with his palms, then washed his feet up to the ankles three times, then scooped a small amount of water. He poured water into his palm and drank it, then said, “This is how the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to perform ablution.”
