Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44796

Yazid told us, Jarir told us, Al-Zubayr bin Al-Kharit told us, on the authority of Abu Labid, he said: A man came out from Tahiyah, an immigrant, called Bayrah bin A lion came to Medina a few days after the death of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Omar, may God be pleased with him, saw him and learned He is a stranger. He said to him, “Who are you?” He said, “From the people of Oman.” He said, “Yes,” he said. So he took his hand and brought it to Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, and he said. This is one of the people of the land that I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: I know of a land called Oman that is draining. Nearby is the sea, and there is a neighborhood of Arabs. If my messenger had come to them, they would not have shot him with an arrow or a stone.
