Hadith #45386
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، وَالثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ لَيْسَ الْوَتْرُ بِحَتْمٍ كَهَيْئَةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ وَلَكِنَّهُ سُنَّةٌ سَنَّهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Muammar narrated to us, and al-Thawri narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Asim ibn Damrah, on the authority of Ali, he said that the Witr is not necessarily Like the written form, but it is a Sunnah enacted by the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
