Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45422

Abdullah told us, Muhammad bin Al-Minhal, brother of Hajjaj bin Minhal told us, Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad told us, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Ishaq, Abu Sa`id told me, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Laila, who said: Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, heard The muezzin, he gives the call to prayer, he said as he says, and when he said, “I testify that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God,” Ali, may God be pleased with him, said. On his authority, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and that those who deny Muhammad are liars.
