Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45423

Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Shu’bah, he said, Al-Hakam told me, on the authority of Al-Qasim bin Mukhaymrah, on the authority of Shuraih bin Hani, he said, I asked Aisha May God be pleased with her, about wiping over the socks. She said: Ask Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, for he was traveling with the Messenger of God. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, so I asked him, and he said: “For the traveler, three days and two nights, and for the resident, one day and one night.” Yahya said, and he used to raise it, meaning Shu`bah then left him
