حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنِ النَّزَّالِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ دَعَا بِكُوزٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فِي الرَّحَبَةِ فَشَرِبَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ رِجَالًا يَكْرَهُونَ هَذَا وَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ كَالَّذِي رَأَيْتُمُونِي فَعَلْتُ ثُمَّ تَمَسَّحَ بِفَضْلِهِ وَقَالَ هَذَا وُضُوءُ مَنْ لَمْ يُحْدِثْ.
Waki` narrated to us, Shu`bah narrated to me, on the authority of Abd al-Malik ibn Maysarah, on the authority of al-Nazzal ibn Sabrah, that Ali, may God be pleased with him, when he prayed the noon prayer He called for a jug of water in Al-Rahba and drank while standing, then said, “Men hate this, and I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He, peace and blessings be upon him, did as you saw me do, then he anointed himself with his grace and said, “This is the ablution of one who does not perform it.”
