Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45524

Abdullah narrated to us, Zakaria bin Yahya, Rahmawi narrated to us, Muhammad bin Bakkar narrated to us, Ismail Abu Muammar, and Surayj narrated to us. Ibn Yunus, they said, Al-Hasan ibn Yazid Al-Asam told us, Abu Muammar said, a client of Quraysh, he said, Al-Suddi informed me, and he said, Rahmawiyah in His hadith said: I heard Al-Suddi, on the authority of Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said: When Abu Talib died, I came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace Then I said, “Your uncle, the sheikh, has died.” He said, “Go and see him and do not talk about anything about him until you come to me.” So I saw him, then I came to him, and he said, “Go and wash yourself, and do not do anything until you come to me.” So I washed, then I came to him, and he made supplications for me that pleased me.
