Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45584

Abdullah told us, Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah told us, Waki’ told us, Abdullah told us, he said, Sufyan bin Waki’ told us, My father told us, on the authority of Abu Janab, on the authority of Abu Jamila al-Tahwi, who said: I heard Ali, may God be pleased with him, say: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was cupped. He, peace and blessings be upon him, then said to the cupper, when he finished, “How much is your tax?” He said, “Two sa’s.” So he took a sa’ of his own and ordered me to do so, so I gave him a sa’.
