Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45583

Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, Ayoub told us, on the authority of Mujahid, he said: Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: I was severely hungry once in Medina. So I went out looking for work in the townspeople of the city, and I saw a woman who had collected money. I thought she wanted some money, so I went to her. So I interrupted her for every sin over a date, so I extended sixteen sins until my hands became wet, then I came to water and poured some of it, then I came to her and said With my palms like this between her hands, and Ishmael spread out his hands and gathered them together, she counted sixteen dates for me, so I went to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Peace be upon him, so I told him and he ate some of it with me.
