حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَسَّانَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتْ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ بُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا شَكَّ فِي الْبُيُوتِ وَالْبُطُونِ فَأَمَّا الْقُبُورُ فَلَيْسَ فِيهِ شَكٌّ.
Hajjaj told us, Shu`bah told me, he said I heard Qatada, he said I heard Abu Hassan, telling on the authority of Ubaidah, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: On the Day of the Battles, they distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set. God will fill their graves. And their houses or bellies are fire. There is no doubt about the houses and bellies. As for the graves, there is no doubt about it.
