Hadith #45694
Abu Nu`aym told us, Sharik told us, on the authority of Al-Aswad ibn Qais, on the authority of Amr ibn Sufyan, who said: A man spoke on the Day of Basra when he appeared. Ali, may God be pleased with him, and Ali said, This ill-mannered orator preceded the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and Abu Bakr and a third of Umar led the prayer, then We were struck by a trial after them, in which God will do whatever He wills.
