حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، لُوَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ عَشْرُ آيَاتٍ مِنْ بَرَاءَةٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَبَعَثَهُ بِهَا لِيَقْرَأَهَا عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ ثُمَّ دَعَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي أَدْرِكْ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَحَيْثُمَا لَحِقْتَهُ فَخُذْ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ فَاذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ فَاقْرَأْهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَحِقْتُهُ بِالْجُحْفَةِ فَأَخَذْتُ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ وَرَجَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَزَلَ فِيَّ شَيْءٌ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ جَاءَنِي فَقَالَ لَنْ يُؤَدِّيَ عَنْكَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَوْ رَجُلٌ مِنْكَ.
Abdullah told us, Muhammad bin Sulaiman told us, Luwayn Muhammad bin Jabir told us, on the authority of Simak, on the authority of Hanash, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said When ten verses of innocence were revealed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, called Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, so he sent him with it to read it to the people of Mecca. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, called me and said to me, “Meet Abu Bakr.” May God be pleased with him. Wherever you catch up with him, take the letter from him and take it to the people of Mecca and read it to them. Then you catch up with him in Al-Juhfa. So I took the letter from him, and Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, returned to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and said, “O Messenger of God, something happened about me.” He said, “No.” But Gabriel came to me and said, “No one will perform on your behalf except you or a man from among you.”
