حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرٌ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْبِرْنِي بِشَهْرٍ أَصُومُهُ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ كُنْتَ صَائِمًا شَهْرًا بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ فَصُمْ الْمُحَرَّمَ فَإِنَّهُ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ وَفِيهِ يَوْمٌ تَابَ فِيهِ عَلَى قَوْمٍ وَيُتَابُ فِيهِ عَلَى آخَرِينَ.
Abdullah told us, Zuhair Abu Khaythamah told me, Abu Muawiyah told us, Abdul Rahman bin Ishaq told us, on the authority of Al-Nu’man bin Saad, On the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said: A man came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and said, O Messenger of God, inform me of a month in which I should fast. After Ramadan, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: If you are fasting for a month after Ramadan, then fast Muharram, for it is God’s month and in it is a day. He accepted the repentance of one people and will accept the repentance of others.
