Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45785

Abdullah told us, Suwayd bin Saeed told me, Marwan Al-Fazari told us, on the authority of Al-Mukhtar bin Nafi’, Abu Matar Al-Basri told me, And it was, Ali, may God be pleased with him, realized that Ali had bought a dress for three dirhams, and when he wore it, he said, Praise be to God who He blessed me with feathers that I could use to beautify myself in front of people and to cover my private parts. Then he said, “This is what I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say.”
