Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah — Hadith #48082

Harun bin Musa bin Abi Alqamah Al-Madini told us, he said: My father told me, on the authority of Hisham bin Saad, on the authority of Zayd bin Aslam, on the authority of his father, On the authority of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, that a man came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and asked him to give him something. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: I do not have Something, but buy it on me, so when something comes to me I pay for it, and Omar said: O Messenger of God, I have given it, so God has not cost you what you cannot afford, so he thought about it. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, told Umar, and a man from the Ansar said: O Messenger of God, spend and do not fear a lack of power from the One who possesses the Throne. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, smiled and his face recognized the good news, according to what Al-Ansari had said, then he said: This is what I have been commanded to do.
