Hadith #48206
وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «مَنْ نَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيُسَبِّحْ فَإِنَّمَا التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ» وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: قَالَ: «التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ والتصفيق للنِّسَاء»
On the authority of Sahl bin Saad, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever is disturbed by something during his prayer, let him say tasbih, for the applause is for women.” In a narration: He said: “Tasbih is for men and clapping is for women.”
