Hadith #48542
On the authority of Hafs bin Asim, he said: I accompanied Ibn Omar on the road to Mecca, and he prayed two rak’ahs of noon prayer for us, then his companion came and sat down, and he saw people standing. He said: What are these people doing? I said: They glorify God. He said: If I had been praising God, I would have completed my prayer. I accompanied the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He used to perform no more than two rak'ahs during travel, and Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman did the same.
