Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48969

On the authority of Abu Hamid al-Sa’idi: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, appointed a man from Azd, called Ibn al-Latbiyyah, to give charity. When he came, he said: This is for you, and this is given as a gift. So the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, addressed me, and he thanked God and praised Him and said: “As for what follows, I I will appoint men from among you to carry out matters from which God has appointed me. Then one of you comes and says: This is for you and this is a gift given to me. So, will he not sit in his father’s house or his mother’s house? So he will see whether gifts will be given to him or not? By the One in whose hand is my soul, no one takes anything from it but will bring it on the Day of Resurrection carrying it. On his neck, whether it is a camel that is bellowing, or a cow that is bellowing, or a sheep that is bleating.” Then he raised his hands until we saw the backbones of his armpits, then he said: “O God, do I have conveyed the message. Oh God, have you conveyed it? Al-Khattābi said: And in his statement: “Would he not have sat in his mother’s or father’s house and seen whether gifts were given to him or not?” guide However, every matter in which a prohibited matter is used as an excuse is prohibited, and every matter entered into contracts must be examined whether its ruling in private is the same as its ruling in Pairing or not?
